TL;DR

Anime Zero weapon tier list β€” quick answers

QuestionAnswer
Best overallCataclysm β€” highest tier and the cheapest evolution of the two top weapons at 3,000 Gems.
Best without a LYTH pullCursed King β€” Arcane, and it still out-damages every Mythic weapon in the game.
Cheapest S-tier evolutionCursed King β€” 1,750 Gems, and no raid materials at all.
Most expensive evolution10,000 Gems on the raid-locked weapon, which also drops at 2% from the Spirit’s Bathtub.
Not worth equipping togetherCosmic Warrior + Thunder Prodigy β€” the published pair lowers cooldowns instead of raising damage.
Ranking

Every Anime Zero weapon, ranked with the reason

Numbered in tier order, so a lower number is a stronger placement rather than a stronger pull rate. The evolution column is the Gem half of the cost β€” the material half and the chapter each material drops in are on the evolution guide.

#WeaponTierEvolveWhy it sits here
1Cataclysm
LYTH
S3,000Tops the list because every move grants damage immunity, which makes the hardest content also the safest content to stand in. It is also the cheapest LYTH evolution in the game, so it is the realistic first S-tier target rather than the runner-up.
2Flame Director
LYTH
S10,000The highest damage ceiling and the only weapon that cannot be pulled from spins at all. It ranks beside Cataclysm rather than clearly above it because a raid-locked 2% drop with a 35-run pity is a much longer road than three chapters of farming.
3Cursed King
Arcane
S1,750The best non-LYTH option and the clearest argument that rarity is not the sort key here: an Arcane that out-damages every Mythic on the board.
4Immortal Sovereign
Mythic
A1,250Holds A largely on the strength of its pair bonus β€” equipped beside Cursed King it adds +10% damage to both slots, which is more than most Mythics bring on their own.
5Dragon Eclipse
Mythic
A1,250An Endless boss specialist. It deals the damage an A-tier row needs but does not carry the survivability that keeps Cataclysm upright through a Nightmare wave.
6Divine Emperor
Arcane
B1,750Arcane rarity without an Arcane damage profile, so it functions as a stepping stone rather than a destination. Its +15% maximum health pair with Rubber Man is the reason it is not ranked lower.
7Lights of Divinity
Mythic
B1,250A support slot, not a damage slot. On its own it is a B, but it is the correct second weapon beside Cataclysm for +8% speed and βˆ’5% cooldowns, which is where its ranking value actually comes from.
8Kings Gambit
Legendary
C750A Legendary that carries the early rooms before a stronger pull lands. Its +20% ultimate charge rate with Twisted Agony is the only reason to keep it equipped once a Mythic arrives.
9Twisted Agony
Legendary
C750The other half of that charge-rate pair and little else. Same bracket as Kings Gambit: useful early, outclassed later.
10Rubber Man
Epic
C200The cheap second slot beside Divine Emperor. Epic rarity makes it a placeholder by definition, so it sits at C rather than being called good.
11Cosmic Warrior
Epic
D200Placed in D because its published pair with Thunder Prodigy reduces your cooldowns, which is a downgrade in practice rather than a synergy worth equipping for.
12Thunder Prodigy
Epic
D200The other half of that downgrade pair. Fine as filler in an empty second slot, not worth chasing.

Raid-locked and not obtainable from Weapon Spins: Flame Director (Hu Tao / Paramita Pyre). Its drop rate and pity counter are on the updates page.

Method

What actually separates the tiers

Reachability counts as power

A weapon you cannot evolve behaves like a weapon without its fourth skill, which is the single largest damage step in the game. That is why the ranking reads evolution cost alongside damage instead of treating them as separate questions.

Safety is a stat

Cataclysm leads partly because damage immunity on its moves means you keep attacking through patterns other weapons have to dash out of. Surviving a wave pays out more than clearing it faster.

The pair decides the second slot

Two equipped weapons always give a base +5% damage, and the published named pairs beat that. Any two weapons of any kind still count, so an empty second slot is the only genuinely wasted slot.

Rarity is a tiebreaker only

Placement never follows the rarity label. An Arcane can outrank a Mythic on damage, and two Epics can rank below filler because their pair bonus works backwards.

Pairs

The pair bonuses that move a placement

Every named pair below is published; anything not on the list still gets the flat +5% for running two weapons.

PairBonus
Cataclysm + Lights of Divinity+8% Speed and βˆ’5% Cooldowns
Cursed King + Immortal Sovereign+10% Damage
Kings Gambit + Twisted Agony+20% Ultimate Charge Rate
Divine Emperor + Rubber Man+15% Maximum Health
Dragon Eclipse + Lights of Divinity+5% Damage and +8 Maximum Health
Cosmic Warrior + Thunder Prodigyβˆ’10% Cooldowns (a drawback)
Any + Any+5% Damage base synergy for any two equipped weapons
Legend

What each tier means in this ranking

S

3 of 12 weapons

A

2 of 12 weapons

B

2 of 12 weapons

C

3 of 12 weapons

D

2 of 12 weapons

S is worth building toward, A is a strong second slot, B is a support or stepping stone, C is early-game only, and D means the published pair makes it actively worse to run.

Common questions

FAQ

What is the best weapon in Anime Zero?

Cataclysm, on the balance of power and reachability rather than raw damage. Flame Director hits harder and has the higher ceiling, but it only drops from the Spirit’s Bathtub raid at 2% and its evolution costs 10,000 Gems against 3,000. For most accounts Cataclysm is the stronger practical pick.

Do weapon tiers follow rarity in this ranking?

No, and Cursed King is the proof. It is Arcane, below Mythic on the pull table, yet it out-damages every Mythic weapon because its damage ceiling is higher. Rarity tells you how hard a weapon is to pull; the tier tells you what it does once you have it.

Which weapon should I evolve first?

Cataclysm if you have it, because it is the cheapest LYTH evolution and its materials come from ordinary Story chapters rather than the raid. Evolution is what unlocks the fourth skill, so an evolved B-tier weapon usually beats an unevolved S-tier one.

Does the second weapon slot matter for this ranking?

Yes. Two equipped weapons always give a base +5% damage, and named pairs go much further β€” Cursed King plus Immortal Sovereign is +10% damage, Lights of Divinity beside Cataclysm is +8% speed and βˆ’5% cooldowns. That is why Immortal Sovereign and Lights of Divinity hold their tiers despite modest individual damage.

Why are Cosmic Warrior and Thunder Prodigy at the bottom?

Because their published pair works against you: equipping the two together lowers your cooldowns rather than raising your damage, so the one reason to run an Epic pair disappears. They remain usable as an empty-slot filler and nothing more.
