Anime Zero trait tier list — quick answers
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Best for bosses | Deadeye — the largest critical-damage bonus published, at 0.01%. |
| Best for farming | Fortune — no combat stats, but +25% Coins, +20% Experience and +20% Drop Rate on every run at a 12.63% roll rate. |
| Rarest roll | 0.01% — shared by Deadeye and Supernova. That is roughly one in ten thousand. |
| Most common roll | 12.64% — Power 1. Highest frequency in the pool and bottom of the ranking, which is the whole pattern of this list. |
| Realistic first target | Anything in the 0.10% to 2% band. Below that you are rolling for a single outcome over hundreds of tokens, which is a much later project. |
Roll rate is not the same thing as power
The most common mistake in Anime Zero is reading the percentage column as a quality column. It is a frequency column. The whole published pool splits into three bands, and only the top band is genuinely hard to get:
| Roll rate band | What it means in practice |
|---|---|
| Under 0.10% | The five rolls that carry the top tier’s damage numbers. At these rates you are rolling for a specific outcome over hundreds of attempts, not farming for it. |
| 0.10% – 2% | Overkill, Razor Focus and Hunter. Reroll tokens spent here will eventually return something, which makes this the practical target band for most players. |
| Above 4% | The numbered families and Vitality. These are the outcomes you will see most often, so they are the ones a reroll token is most likely to produce and least likely to improve on. |
Every Anime Zero Trait, ranked with the reason
Tier order first, then the published buff list. The roll rate beside each name is what it costs to get there, not what it is worth once you have it.
| # | Trait | Tier | Roll | Why it sits here |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Deadeye Critical | S | 0.01% | The largest critical-damage bonus published anywhere in the game, set on top of a +20% damage line. Nothing else converts a boss window into damage as fast, which is why a single Deadeye roll is treated as an account milestone rather than a nice roll.+20% Damage · +5% Critical Chance · +50% Critical Damage |
| 2 | Supernova Balanced | S | 0.01% | The only Trait that adds raw damage, cooldown reduction and attack speed in one package. It wins the top tier on coverage: it raises both the damage you deal and how often the skills that deal it are ready.+24% Damage · +12% Cooldown Reduction · +20% Attack Speed · +3 Walk Speed |
| 3 | Ferocity Balanced | S | 0.04% | A slightly smaller Supernova with a much friendlier roll rate — 0.04% against Supernova’s 0.01%. That four-fold difference is why it is the realistic endgame target for most accounts rather than the theoretical best.+18% Damage · +8% Cooldown Reduction · +14% Attack Speed · +2 Walk Speed |
| 4 | Sniper Critical | S | 0.04% | Critical stats with no critical-damage multiplier of its own. It holds S because +12% critical chance is the reliable half of the crit equation, but it wants a crit-damage source beside it to pay off fully.+12% Critical Chance · +15% Critical Damage · +8% Attack Speed |
| 5 | Fortune Farming | S | 12.63% | The one S-tier entry that adds no combat stats at all. It is here because +25% Coins, +20% Experience and +20% Drop Rate compound across every run you will ever do, and at a 12.63% roll rate it is the most obtainable Trait in the top tier by three orders of magnitude.+25% Coins · +20% Experience · +20% Drop Rate |
| 6 | Overkill Critical | A | 1% | One stat and only one: +40% critical damage. On a crit build that single line out-damages several higher-coverage rolls, which is why it heads the A tier instead of sitting mid-B.+40% Critical Damage |
| 7 | Razor Focus Critical | A | 1% | The other half of the crit equation at +13% critical chance. Good, unremarkable, and the first thing you replace once a Sniper or Deadeye lands.+13% Critical Chance |
| 8 | Hunter Balanced | B | 1.83% | A four-stat bundle that does a little of everything — damage, cooldowns, attack speed and a movement step. The best generalist in the middle of the list, and a sensible stopgap rather than a destination.+10% Damage · +5% Cooldown Reduction · +10% Attack Speed · +1 Walk Speed |
| 9 | Power 3 Damage | B | 4.21% | A clean +8% damage with no condition attached and no downside. It sits in B because it is a single stat, not because the stat is weak.+8% Damage |
| 10 | Swift 3 Speed | B | 4.21% | Attack speed plus a movement step. Genuinely useful while you are still learning attack windows, and worth replacing once you know them by instinct.+12% Attack Speed · +1 Walk Speed |
| 11 | Focus 3 Cooldown | B | 4.21% | Cooldown reduction on its own. Solid for a skill-heavy rotation and the cheapest route into a faster ultimate, since cooldowns gate the fourth skill hardest.+10% Cooldown Reduction |
| 12 | Power 2 Damage | C | 8.42% | The middle rung of the damage family. Take it when it lands and keep rolling — it is strictly worse than Power 3 with no extra effect to compensate.+6% Damage |
| 13 | Swift 2 Speed | C | 8.42% | The middle rung of the speed family. Below Swift 3 on both attack speed and movement, so it is a placeholder rather than a target.+9% Attack Speed · +1 Walk Speed |
| 14 | Focus 2 Cooldown | C | 8.42% | The middle rung of the cooldown family. It shortens your ultimate cycle, just not enough to be worth stopping the reroll hunt for.+7% Cooldown Reduction |
| 15 | Vitality Survival | D | 7.66% | The odd number in the list: +25% maximum health, ranked D not because the value is small but because a defensive Trait does not clear content faster. It is a Nightmare learning aid and nothing more.+25% Maximum Health |
| 16 | Power 1 Damage | D | 12.64% | The floor of the damage family and the highest-percentage outcome in its group, which is exactly why you will see it constantly. Reroll over it.+4% Damage |
| 17 | Swift 1 Speed | D | 12.63% | The floor of the speed family. It does move your attack cadence, but by less than a single accessory would.+6% Attack Speed |
| 18 | Focus 1 Cooldown | D | 12.63% | The floor of the cooldown family. +4% is inside the noise of most rotations, so treat it as a miss rather than a result.+4% Cooldown Reduction |
Is it worth a reroll token?
Yes — stop and keep it
Deadeye, Supernova, Ferocity, Sniper, Fortune. Every S-tier roll is worth keeping, including Fortune on a farming set. The Keep Traits list exists precisely so a roll like this survives the next attempt.
Depends on your bottleneck
Hunter, Power 3, Swift 3 and Focus 3 are not bad rolls, they are narrow ones. Keep them while they are your best, replace them once a bundle that covers the same stat plus another lands.
No — reroll over it
The numbered tier-1 rolls and, for most builds, Vitality. They are the outcomes a token is most likely to produce, so holding one just means the next token is spent from the same starting point.
Rerolls happen at the Matilda NPC in the lobby. The full reroll explainer and every roll percentage sits on the traits reference and the odds calculator.
FAQ
What is the best Trait in Anime Zero?
Deadeye for anything with a boss or a long mode, Fortune for farming. Deadeye carries the biggest single damage number in the game at +50% critical damage; Fortune carries no combat stats at all but adds +25% Coins, +20% Experience and +20% Drop Rate on every run and rolls at 12.63%.
Does a lower roll rate always mean a better Trait?
No. Roll rate describes how hard a Trait is to land, not how strong it is. Fortune is the easiest of the five top-tier rolls to get at 12.63% and it is also the best farming Trait in the game; Power 1 rolls at 12.64% and sits at the bottom of the list.
Should I reroll a good Trait to chase Deadeye?
Not until you can afford to lose it. Deadeye, Supernova and Ferocity are all at or below 0.04%, so the expected number of tokens is large. Land a Ferocity, Supernova or Sniper first, keep it, then chase the 0.01% rolls with spare tokens. Careful spend of a reroll token averages 1/0.0001 reroll per attempt at Deadeye.
Is Vitality ever worth keeping?
While you are learning Nightmare, yes. +25% maximum health turns a two-hit death into a three-hit death and gives you the time to read a pattern. Once you clear the tier comfortably, swap it — a defensive Trait is the only one in the list that does not shorten a run.
How do I reroll a Trait?
At the Matilda NPC in the lobby, using Trait Reroll tokens. Interact with E, then spend a token for a fresh passive. Update 1 added a Keep Traits list that sorts your current Traits by rarity, so a good roll can be protected while you chase a better one.
