Anime Zero Beginner Guide — Start Here

Everything a new Anime Zero account needs in its opening session — codes, the first spins, the first evolution, the first Trait and the first craft. This Anime Zero beginner guide was last verified October 9, 2026 against Update 1 of October 4, 2026.
Your opening route, step by step
Follow this in order. Each step supplies something the next one needs: codes fund the spins, spins give the weapons, weapons need materials, materials come from the Story chapters, and the Trait decides how efficiently you farm all of it.
- Redeem the codes first. Click the Codes button on the right of the main interface and paste each string, then press Redeem. Two codes are level-gated — SORRYFORDELAY needs level 25 and NEWRAID needs level 50 — so keep them for when you have levelled rather than wasting the attempt. The current list is on the codes page.
- Spin in the Arsenal, aiming for Mythic. Weapons are rolled, not chosen, and you can hold two at once with T to swap. Pity floors are 175 spins for Mythic, 350 for Arcane and 3,500 for LYTH, while Epic and Legendary have no floor at all. Since codes give hundreds of Lucky Spins, low rarities become obsolete fast — chase Mythic and up. Weapons page
- Clear Story Chapter 1 on Easy and Medium. Chapter 1 supplies Eyeballs, Cursed Fingers, Soul Fragments and Magic Pendants. Fine Cloth drops in every chapter and in Infinite mode, so common materials are never the bottleneck — the raid-only ones are.
- Evolve Cataclysm, not Flame Director. Use the Areas button to reach the Evolution NPC.
- Craft the cheapest accessory. Accessories are the only crafted item in the game — no roll RNG once the materials are in hand.
- Reroll a Trait, aiming at Fortune first. Find Matilda in the lobby and spend Trait Reroll tokens.

The Arsenal is where Spins and Lucky Spins turn into weapons, and where Unit Storage — added in Update 1 — lets you park a new pull instead of replacing a working setup.
Why Cataclysm is the smarter first evolution
Evolution is the biggest single power spike in Anime Zero because it unlocks the fourth skill, the ultimate. That matters more than which weapon you pick, so the correct first target is simply the cheapest one you already own — and the two LYTH weapons are not close.
- Cataclysm — costs 3,000 Gems plus Fine Cloth, Mana Feathers, Wave Cores, Soul Fragments and Magic Pendants. All of them drop outside the raid.
- Flame Director — costs 10,000 Gems plus Ghosts and Staffs of Homa, which only drop in the Nightmare-only Spirit’s Bathtub raid. It is the stronger weapon overall, and the wrong first investment.
Use the Areas button to find the Evolution NPC. Every material cost and its drop location is broken out on the weapons page, and the gem budget is modelled on the calculator.
Reroll a Trait, but pick the target first
Matilda in the lobby rerolls your passive Trait for Trait Reroll tokens. Tokens come from stage clears, Weekly Quests, Achievements, Milestone rewards, Nightmare Story stages and code redemptions — so a code-heavy opening hands you a large bank. All 18 published roll rates are on the traits page.
- Fortune first — 12.63% roll rate, roughly one in eight. It gives +25% Coins, +20% Experience and +20% Drop Rate, which shortens every farm run that follows.
- Deadeye and Supernova are a long-term project — 0.01% each. Deadeye adds +50% Critical Damage on top of damage and Critical Chance, and Supernova trades burst for speed and cooldown. Neither is a realistic opening target at 10,000 rerolls of expectation.
- Keep Traits, added in Update 1 — the Trait menu now has a Keep Traits list that sorts by rarity, so lock a good roll before spending another token on it.
Spend Skill Tokens on one path at a time
Killing enemies and clearing stages grants XP, and levelling hands out Skill Tokens. Those tokens buy permanent attribute upgrades in the Skill Tree: Attack, Critical Chance, Defense and Speed. The first upgrade on each path costs 1 Token and each subsequent one costs more, so splitting a small bank across all four paths leaves every path barely advanced.
For a first account, concentrate on Attack until the early chapters stop being a wall, then move one path at a time. Defense only becomes worth tokens once you are pushing a difficulty you cannot yet clear.
Accessories: craft, do not roll
Accessories are the only item in Anime Zero obtained by crafting rather than rolling, and there is no roll RNG once the materials are in hand — the accessory is guaranteed. Materials drop when you clear dungeons and stages, and crafting has a pity system so a rare material never becomes an endless farm.
Start with Gentleman’s Top Hat — it costs just 8 Fine Cloth, the lowest material cost in the game. +3% Damage, +5% Experience, +2 Walk Speed.
Do not chase Blast Archer Wings or Blast Archer Crown early. Both are Mythic and both are S-tier, but their recipes need Sun Cores, Forbidden Fruits and large material counts, all of which come from later chapters.
Six beginner mistakes
These mistakes waste rare materials, spins or run attempts. They are ordered by how much they cost you in the first week, not by how obvious they look.
- Sinking rare materials into an Epic or Legendary evolution. The 200-Gem Epics exist as placeholders so your second slot is not empty. Every Arcane material you spend there is one that Cursed King or Divine Emperor needs later.
- Chasing Deadeye on an opening reroll bank. At 0.01% the expected cost is 10,000 rerolls. Bank for Fortune first — the calculator shows the chance of spending a whole bank for nothing.
- Starting with Flame Director instead of Cataclysm. It costs over three times the Gems and two materials that only exist behind the Nightmare gate. Both weapons evolve into an ultimate; only one of them can be afforded this week.
- Splitting Skill Tokens across all four paths. Upgrade costs rise along each path, so four half-finished trees are weaker than one finished one. Take Attack first and reassess when the next chapter stops being a wall.
- Forcing a Nightmare clear before you can handle Hard. Nightmare gates the raid that supplies the LYTH unit and the Flame Director materials. A failed attempt spends the run and gives nothing back.
- Redeeming the level-gated codes too early. SORRYFORDELAY needs level 25 and NEWRAID needs level 50. Redeem each one once you have the level, not once you have the code list open.
Game passes — what is actually worth it
The one published pass is Instant Spins (149 Robux), which skips the summon and reroll animations. It does not change roll results, so it cannot improve your odds or shorten a pity counter — it only saves time. Names, prices and effects can change, so check the current Roblox store before buying.
Skip optional spending until the free route stops paying. Nothing in the opening loop — spins, Story clears, one evolution, one craft, one Trait reroll — requires Robux.
Beginner route recap
| Question | Recommended answer |
|---|---|
| First action? | Redeem every code you are level-eligible for, starting with the ungated ones. |
| First spins? | Use Lucky Spins on Mythic targets. Epic and Legendary have no pity floor and codes make them obsolete. |
| First farm? | Story Chapter 1 on Easy, then Medium, for Eyeballs, Cursed Fingers, Soul Fragments and Magic Pendants. |
| First evolution? | Cataclysm. Use the Areas button to reach the Evolution NPC. |
| Second slot while saving? | A 200-Gem Epic as a placeholder. Do not feed it rare materials. |
| First Trait? | Reroll at Matilda toward Fortune at 12.63%, not Deadeye at 0.01%. |
| First Skill Tokens? | Spend them on one Attack path until the early chapters stop blocking you. |
| First craft? | The cheapest accessory. Eight Fine Cloth is the lowest recipe in the game. |
| When Nightmare? | Once Hard clears reliably. Nightmare gates the raid and the LYTH unit. |
| Robux? | Not needed. Instant Spins only removes animations; it never changes results. |
FAQ
What should an Anime Zero beginner do first?
Redeem the codes before anything else, then spend your first Lucky Spins in the Arsenal. Codes hand out hundreds of Trait Rerolls and Lucky Spins, and Mythic has a 175-spin pity floor while LYTH needs 3,500 — so spinning early is what makes the mid-game reachable.
Which weapon should I evolve first in Anime Zero?
Cataclysm. It costs 3,000 Gems plus five materials that all drop outside the raid, while Flame Director needs 10,000 Gems plus Ghosts and Staffs of Homa from the Nightmare-only Spirit’s Bathtub raid. Evolution unlocks the fourth skill, so the point is to get any ultimate running early — take the cheap one first.
Is Anime Zero free to play?
Yes. Nothing on the opening route needs Robux. The one published pass, Instant Spins at 149 Robux, only removes summon and reroll animations — it does not change roll results, so it never affects your odds or pity progress.
What is a realistic first Trait to roll for?
Fortune. It sits at a 12.63% roll rate, so roughly one reroll in eight lands it, and it gives +25% Coins, +20% Experience and +20% Drop Rate. Deadeye and Supernova are 0.01% each, which means an average of 10,000 rerolls — treat those as a long-term project, not an opening goal.
Should I evolve my Epic weapon in Anime Zero?
Only as a placeholder. Rubber Man, Cosmic Warrior and Thunder Prodigy each cost 200 Gems and three materials, which is cheap enough to hold a second slot while you save for a real target. Do not spend Mythic or Arcane materials on them — those same materials are what a Mythic or Arcane evolution requires.
When should I attempt Nightmare difficulty?
After you can clear Hard consistently with your current build. Nightmare raises enemy stats across all four difficulty tiers and rewards rise with them, but it also gates the Spirit’s Bathtub raid — the only source of the LYTH Paramita Pyre — so an under-geared attempt can cost you the run without the materials you need.
